FC United Of Manchester - The Soul Is One

Candidates Statements:

Brady, Rob - I’ve been a columnist for UWS since the Terry Gibson Guarantee.
All I’ve ever wanted to say about United I said there. It wasn’t much. I’ve
been Man U mad since we won the League Cup in 1999. Being on the Steering
Committee for FC United has made me U Man mad. I’d be instrumental in
bringing back Lincoln biscuits to board meetings thereby cutting costs but
also improving taste with one solitary action. If anyone says ‘Not three bad’
or ‘to some tune’ at meetings I give my commitment to twt them. I live
alone. My channel five ghosts.

Brown, Adam - I am on the Steering Committee of FCUM. I am also a member and
former committee member of IMUSA and a member of SU. A lifelong red, and now
a former season ticket holder at Manchester United I have been active in the
campaign against Glazer. In the 1990s I was a member of the Football
Supporters Association national committee and on the Government’s Football
Task Force. I’ve written for all United fanzines and work in sport research
at Manchester Metropolitan University’s Institute of Popular Culture. I hope
to bring this experience to the FCUM board if elected.

Charnock, Matthew - Regarding the youth in the community - I have a young
brother who goes football training every weekend with Cheadle and Gatley
Juno’s, and occassionally much to his horror he has to train with Manchester
City (eek!), I want to do something about that and relieve some poor souls
from that terror. Some of these players have got some good talent and in
coming years we could do with some scheme to help FCUM, and helping the
community on the whole via a youth scheme. I could take some coaching
lessons if that’s what it takes.

Delaney, Russ - I have been a United supporter for best part of 40 years, I
have been involved with both the Murdoch campaign to a lesser degree and I
was heavily involved behind the scenes with regards to the Glazer campaign
and this I believe has led to my being invited onto the Steering Committee
for FC United. As an Independent Financial Adviser for over 20 years who has
specialised in the football industry I have built up a network of contacts
at all levels of the game, these could be of use in the future to FC United.

England, John - Have been a red since I was 5 (1958)! Served on IMUSA
committee for the last 2 years. Was union rep at work for 2 years. As board
members of FC Utd, it is vital that we concentrate efforts on making the
club successful for all who support us in any way. We have to be loyal to
the club’s ideals and listen to all that members and supporters have to
offer. There will be difficult decisions to make and those have to be made
with integrity and with the best interests of the club in mind.

Fletcher, Scott - Managing Director of ANS plc. Aged 31, I was a regular on
the right side Stretford end before progressing to K stand. I’ve cancelled
my 4 corporate seats in the Manchester suite. I run a multimillion pound IT
solutions company which I started from scratch 10 years ago. I believe I
could lend my skills to general business and commercial management as well
as IT related issues such as website, membership and ticketing systems. As a
child I featured in various TV programmes, so am comfortable when dealing
with media. I currently live in Droylsden.

Haldane, Maureen - I have been teaching for over 30 years; the last 15 as a
University Senior Lecturer. My various positions of responsibility within
the University have required me to draw on my exacting planning and
organisation skills as well as my well developed interpersonal skills.
Generating and seeing through realistic action plans, writing formal
documents (as well as editing and proof-reading), carrying out public
presentations and speaking to large numbers of people are usual aspects of
my job. I am a confident and effective communicator with an excellent track
record of effective team management. I am also experienced at initiating
sponsorship.

Ljunggren, Peter - I am a PhD Candidate in Financial Economics. As an
entrepreneur I am active in three companies: gmentertainment.com, which
sells pictures to mobile phones on a global basis, Lejon Media (a publishing
firm) and Lackareback Fastigheter (properties). I have co-written the
business plans, outlined international markets strategies and market
development. 100% commitment is essential for success and entrepreneurship
is about doing what you think is right regardless what other people say. The
FCUoM board’s responsibility is to provide the organisation and financial
means necessary to ensure on-pitch success.

Massey, Anthony - I am a Co-Director of a small business which we
established 7 years ago. I have gained valuable experience and management
skills, which has seen the company grow to our current size of 12 people.
Each year the company has made a profit which has been re-invested to
increase the company’s size and improve the conditions and salaries of the
employees. If appointed, I would use my skills, experience and effort, to
action the instructions/motions passed by my fellow members and to
consolidate and build on the hard work and effort undertaken to date.

Moolna, Adam - I’m a Manchester United supporter and always will be. FC
United is about Manchester United in exile. I can’t promise I’ll be able to
give the same time and effort that the steering committee members have so
far. I can’t offer business, legal or financial advice - I’m a researcher in
plant molecular sciences at Manchester University. But what I can offer is
simply to be there to keep Manchester United at the heart of our exile club
and to represent the young United supporters (I’m 24) who just want to help
in whatever small way they can.

Morris, Martin - A former MUFC season ticket holder I have written for UWS
for over ten years and have been on the steering committee for FCUM. I have
performed a number of FCUM duties relating to kit selection, pledges and
liaising with local clubs. I am asking to be elected to the FCUM board for
no other reason than I wish to continue building a club for those already
driven from Old Trafford and those who will doubtless follow.

Munday, Pete - A United supporter of nearly forty years standing, I have
been a member of IMUSA and SU since inception and a regular fanzine
contributor for the last five years. In recent weeks, as a member of the
FCUM steering committee, I have been putting my finance background to use to
help develop a sound business plan for our new club. We owe it to future
generations to reclaim football for the fans. FCUM now stands poised to lead
the greatest supporters’ revolution the British game has ever seen. I would
be proud to be elected to serve it.

Pritchard, Tony - I was the Chair of the Steering Committee, and was heavily
involved in the preparation of the club’s business plan - the production of
which was a key requirement of acceptance into the league - as well as
taking part in the various delicate groundshare negotiations. Originally
from Salford, I’ve been attending United matches since 1969.

Sheeran, Phil - I am a member of the FC United steering committee, an IMUSA
committee member and a member of SU. I helped to organise the public meeting
at the Apollo, am acting assistant membership secretary at FC United and
have many years experience in ticketing, crowd and operations management. If
elected I would be honoured to represent those who, like me, consider FC
United a positive step forward in bringing football closer to its lifeblood,
us, the fans.

Spencer, Jules - I was on the steering group for FC United. I have been
watching Manchester United for 27 years. I am now a former season ticket
holder. I am a former Press Officer, Vice Chair and Chair of IMUSA. I have
been involved in all aspects of establishing FC United from the outset, with
particular attention given to Press duties. I would hope to bring these
aspects of supporter representation and experience in dealing with the press
to the new board if elected.

Stonier, Sam - I feel that I can bring a strong knowledge of football and
decision making, as I’ve been playing for teams all my life and for the past
two years I have managed and played for a Sunday League team sponsored by
Key 103. I am a true Mancunian, born and growing up in Levenshulme. I also
have strong knowledge of computing and am able to assist in such matters as
I am an IT student at Salford University, just down the road from the
Theater Of Dreams. I have a lot to offer the board and the club.

Tully, Joseph - I’m a corporate/commercial lawyer and have spent the last 8
years in the leisure industry. I have experience of clubs, committees and
constitutions. I’ve supported United for 30 years, watching them 800 times
in 29 countries. I believe that FC United should: (1) exist and thrive in
its own right; (2) act as a permanent reminder of what Malcolm Glazer has
done. I admire the work of the Steering Group and hope that most of them are
elected. If it is felt that the board would benefit from some legal skills,
I’d be grateful for your vote.

Wackrill, Vasco - I have served IMUSA as Communications Officer, Secretary
and Vice-Chairman over recent years, as well as spending the last two years
as IMUSA’s representative at the Manchester United Fans’ Forum. I resigned
this summer as I felt that I could not reconcile representing matchgoing
supporters whilst no longer being one myself. My role on the steering
committee at FCUM has principally seen me coordinate the online supporters’
pledges and trialist registrations, set-up online donations and the
membership database and create the club website. I have also been involved
in liaisons with the NWCFL, Supporters Direct and AFC Wimbledon.

Walsh, Andy - I am a member of the FC United steering committee and a former
chair and secretary of IMUSA. I wish to be elected to the board of FCUM and
help build a football club for all those fans who feel alienated from a
professional game tainted by greed and shady deals. I will always be a fan
of Manchester United but I will never support Glazer’s business, FCUM
presents an alternative for those like me who feel that the true spirit of
United must be sustained.

Watts, Armand - In accordance of FA and FIFA regs I am a fit and proper
person to hold a elected position. I wish to put my name forward as a
candidate for the election of board member. I am 37 years old and currently
hold public office as a County Councillor and Mayor of Chepstow.

Wilkinson, Matt - Age 33, from South Manchester, I have been a match-going
red since the early 80’s, a member of Shareholders United, and work in the
city centre as Art Director of a leading Publishing House. My CV includes
links with various Advertising Agencies, Local and National Newspapers,
Online Media as well as numerous contacts within the Publishing Business in
general. These links together with my enthusiasm to promote and further the
development of FCUoM has been the reason in my applying for election to the
committee.

Williamson, Roy - Like many of you I thought Glazer had ended my world, but
the formation of the new club has given me hope for the future. I would not
want to stand against those who made this happen, but I assume additional
committee places are available. I have been in IMUSA since Murdoch, acting
as Vice Chair for 12 months. I sat on the committee of the Football
Supporters Federation and worked within the Safe Standing Group. I have
organisational/admin skills and have a management qualification. I will do
what is needed.

Wood, Steven - I have experience in football admin such as dealing with the
regional FA and refereed football matches at junior level for 3 years. Also
have experience of running a club at grass roots level as an assistant
manager. Been an active member of both IMUSA and SU and have been fully
supportive of both during the fights against Murdoch and Glazer. I have also
gained vast admin experience through my career. I believe football should be
run by the people that care most, ‘the supporters’, Attended MUFC since 1982
and only missed 1 home game from 1984-2002.
